Shiloh is about a boy named Marty that falls in love with an abused dog named Shiloh. The dog belongs to Judd Travers, he is a man that does not care about his dogs and only treats them as hunting dogs. One day, Shiloh came to Marty’s house and so he let Shiloh stay with him. He built him a pen and fed him his food. He did a great job of keeping a secret from his family and friends. Until one day a German Shepard fought Shiloh and torn his ear and leg. Marty and his dad took him to the doctor where he stitched him up to save his life. One person came into the doctors work and saw the missing beagle and told Judd. Judd went to the doctors house and he told him that Marty had his dog. Judd went to Marty’s house and told him to give him the dog back, but the Preston family said they would take care until he heals. Judd let them keep him until Sunday. On Sunday, Marty left early in the morning and walked to Judd’s house. He saw a deer get shot out of season and soon learned out it was Judd that shot the deer. Marty soon told Judd that if he could keep Shiloh he would not tell the warren about what he had done. Judd agreed that Marty could work 20 hours for him and then he could have Shiloh. Marty and Judd became closer at the end of the book.
